Al Mnefi and Draghi Agree on Coordinating Political and Security Effort Through Official Channels.

Rome, 22 June 2021(Lana) A session of talks was held in Rome on Tuesday between President of Presidency Council Mohamed Al Mnefi and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

According to Council’s Communications Office a number of issues have been discussed, including the migration file, security cooperation, border security, support of elections and national reconciliation.

The President of Presidency Council stressed need for partnership and cooperation with the Italian side highlighting Italy as a strategic partner in all areas.

On his part, the Italian Prime Minister expressed Italy’s support for political track in Libya, praising what the Presidency Council has achieved thus far.

Al Mnefi arrived in Italy on Tuesday on a working visit. He was officially welcomed by Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
